MOUS
Centre Opens in Clevedon...
AMW Training now offer Microsoft Certification for Microsoft
Office applications.
AMW Training have been selected as an Authorised
Testing Centre for the Microsoft
MOUS (Microsoft Office User Specialist) programme, the
new global standard for desktop productivity. This means that
each candidate completing courses in Microsoft Office applications
can now be independently tested, and if successful be awarded
a Microsoft Certificate to demonstrate their proficiency and
accomplishment.
For individuals, these Certificates can be added to CV's and
formal qualification portfolios, and used as documentary evidence
of skills attained throughout career development. For companies,
these Certificates provide a means of assessing and monitoring
staff training requirements, as well as a record of the quality
of the training.
Testing is available for all common Microsoft
Office applications, for both Office 97 and the latest
2000 versions, including Word,
Excel, Access
and PowerPoint. Assessment is
at User and Expert level. Office XP versions will be available
shortly. For Project Managers or Administrators, certification
is also available on Microsoft Project
98 and 2000.
AMW Training can provide structured training in all Microsoft
products, from complete beginner and introductory courses, to
expert level training or one-to-one tuition.
All courses are held at our prestigious IT
training centre in Clevedon.
Microsoft Office User Specialist
What is MOUS?
MOUS stands for Microsoft
Office User Specialist. This is a program introduced
by Microsoft as a new global standard for desktop productivity,
with Microsoft exams and certification designed to validate
proficiency and skills in desktop applications.
What applications are covered?
Training and testing is available for most standard Microsoft
Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
and Outlook, for both Office 97 and the latest 2000 versions.
Training and testing is also available for Project 2000.
Specialist or Expert?
MOUS testing is available at
two levels of proficiency, Specialist and Expert, to fully reflect
skills and experience. Certification at Master level is also
available, upon completion of the following five exams: Word
Expert, Excel Expert, Access Specialist, PowerPoint Specialist
and Outlook Specialist.
How are the exams taken?
All exams are taken on PCs, not as a written test, and are based
around how you would actually use your computer. For example,
an exam may include a sample document that requires alteration,
formatting or a spell check. The exams themselves take between
30 minutes and an hour, and test both skill level and productivity.
Results are provided at the end of the exam, with the Certificate
following later.
What are the benefits?
For individuals, MOUS Certificates
can be added to CV's and formal qualification portfolios, and
used as documentary evidence of skills attained throughout career
development. For companies, these Certificates provide a means
of verifying, assessing and monitoring staff training requirements,
as well as a record of the quality of the training delivered.
Where can I find a training provider
and testing centre?
AMW Training provide structured training in all Microsoft products,
from complete beginner and introductory courses, to expert level
training or one-to-one tuition. As an Authorised Testing Centre,
AMW Training host MOUS examinations
